legacy of love

I have been animal crazy since I can remember - dogs, cats, hamsters, rats and even snakes. Our house was always alive with pets of sorts. It’s really no wonder that I enjoy working with pets so much. If you have had pets you realize each has a distinct personality, and, tragically, their time with us is short. So, my passion is to create legacy portraits that showcase your pets' unique personality, and that in years to come you will look upon with fond memories of your best fur friend.

These are a few of the amazing pets I have had the honor to work with and create some legacy art pieces of.

Behind the Scenes with Daisy

Daisy is a cute little girl, from a local breeder in Parksville called Canis Major Bulldogs. This girl is about 4 months old and it was time for some puppy images (they grow up so fast). The session was a short 15 minute session on location (it's called a porch session) at home. We spent some time with Rhonda ( her mom) and Ray, her big brother to get some great images. We even had time to play a little game of 'come' and captured some great action shots!

Behind the Scenes with Enzo & Lucia

Meet Enzo (the darker brown) and his partner in crime fighting Lucia, and no they are NOT Doodles. These beauties are Lagotto Romagnolo’s. Lagotto’s come from a sub-region of Italy and the name means water dog. They traditionally are working gun dogs specifically a water retriever BUT they are also great at hunting Truffles. This is a little behind the scenes of their outdoor session in Lake Cowichan in March.

Fundraising through Portraits

I love to give back to organizations that help animals, so I partnered up with Just Doggin' it in Shawnigan Lake to host Christmas themed canine portraits, with the intention of raising funds for a local charity called Broken Promises. The event was set up with quick little sessions, and owners could dress up their pup with some holiday themed collars if they liked.. The event went for a full day and in the end we raised $700 raised for the Rescue organization.
