Great images help find foster animals permanent homes. They inspire confidence, highlight animal qualities, and evoke powerful emotions in potential adopters. We believe that first impressions matter, and a high-quality image can make all the difference. Making a potential adopter to pause their scroll and read to find out more. Clearly, not all rescue or foster organisations have professional photographers on staff. That is where Foster Foto Days fill a need for professional photos, to help the hard to adopt pups.

FOSTER FOTO DAY

Foster Foto Days are like regular photo shoot but for fosters from various rescues across Vancouver Island. Each foster will receive a complimentary 20-minute photo session alongside 5 hi-resolution, edited images from the session.

The images can be used on foster profiles and on social media. These sessions are open to any rescues across the Vancouver Island area who might need photos of their fosters. Our focus with these session is to provide high-quality imagery to long time fosters, senior pups, medical or behavioral fosters, and only-pet fosters as they have the most need.

HOW DO I REGISTER?: You can register for Foster Photo Day here. Once you’ve selected your time slot and filled out the foster questionnaire, you’ll receive an email to confirm your time.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?: Any current foster dog who needs a new photo can come to our free Foster Foto Days. Long term fosters, puppies with medical or behavioural issues, elders, restricted breeds, and the like are given priority, as was already said. Kindly remember that when requesting a time slot.
DOES IT MATTER WHAT RESCUE I AM WITH?: Not at all! We recognise that not all rescues have the means or volunteers to provide their fosters with the much-needed pictures, hence we welcome fosters from all rescues on Vancouver Island. Please no personal pets are permitted during these sessions.
WHEN ARE DATES ANNOUNCED?: Although we usually announce Foster Foto Days two to three months in advance, reservations are not available until one to two weeks before the event. We don't open bookings until closer to the session day in order to be as efficient as possible and minimise additional rescheduling or cancelling because fosters get adopted, schedules change, fosters move around, etc.
DO YOU OFFER ONLY WEEKEND DATES?: Right now, it is. We used to provide weekday availability, but it didn't fit into most fosters' schedules, so now we mostly provide Weekend sessions.
WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?: Things happen; we get that. We kindly ask that if you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may fill the space because these sessions are limited. We have a foster session waiting list some months. Blacklisted from our Foster Foto Sessions will be fosters who fail to show up for their scheduled session or who are a no call.
WHERE ARE SESSIONS HELD?: Sessions are generally held at a park in Cowichan Valley area.
