Girls Afternoon Out

There’s something special about coming home—the places, the people, the little rituals that make a city yours. For this crew, it’s their group pup walks. After spending the winter away, Chanone wanted to mark that homecoming in a meaningful way and surprise her girlfriends with a session they could all enjoy together. In her words: “I was missing home (Canada) and our group pup walks terribly after being away for the winter season. I wanted to surprise and treat my girlfriends with a photo shoot. My favourite part was working with Kim who is such a fun, talented and generous photographer. Everyone enjoyed getting together and I can’t wait to show them what Kim captured.”

We met at Beacon Hill in Victoria right as the sun began to slide toward the horizon. It was the perfect canvas for what we wanted: those big, sweeping slices of blue sky, a slow-bloom sunset, and a mix of character-filled portraits that feel like the crew—joyful, a little goofy, and absolutely devoted to their dogs.

Kenny, Bailey, Flash, and Vinny took turns stealing the show. Between cuddle breaks and zoomies, we created a blend of hero portraits and candid frames: the girlfriends laughing with wind-tossed hair, silhouettes along the ridge, and individual dog portraits that let each personality shine.

Because this was a gift, we planned the flow so it felt like a treat from start to finish—no stress, there was time for snacks and sniff breaks, and gentle direction so everyone knew exactly what to do. The result is a set of images that will live beautifully as wall art, a trio of statement prints for the entryway, or a keepsake album the group can pass around at their next get-together. The vibe is timeless: clean, classic portraits with a playful edge and the glow only a West Coast sunset can give.

What I love most about sessions like this is how they become part of the memory. It isn’t just “photos at Beacon Hill.” It’s the evening you all came back together, the inside jokes, the dogs being their wonderful selves, and that shared exhale of finally being home. Kenny, Bailey, Flash, and Vinny will be front and centre on the walls—and in every smile when you walk by.

If you’ve been wanting to celebrate your own circle—your people and the pups that bring you together—let’s design something beautiful. We’ll choose the perfect location, plan your artwork from the start, and create a stress-free, luxury experience that feels like you. Ready when you are.
