Capturing Cayle's Graduation

Graduations are always a special time, a moment to celebrate years of hard work and the exciting future ahead. For Cayle Lauzon, the youngest of four sisters, her graduation from Frances Kelsey Secondary School in Shawnigan Lake, BC, was even more poignant. Having photographed each of her older sisters' graduations, this milestone was a perfect opportunity to capture not just Cayle's joy but the entire family's celebration.

A Family Tradition

Cayle's graduation marked the final chapter in a beautiful tradition. The Lauzon family, filled with pride and love, came together for this momentous occasion. Her sisters, mum, dad, and even grandpa were all there, making it a family reunion worth capturing. This wasn't just about individual portraits but about immortalizing the bonds that have grown stronger over the years.

A Girl and Her Horse

Among the many family members, one stood out – Sly, Cayle's beloved horse. Cayle had always dreamed of including Sly in her graduation photos, embodying the timeless bond between a girl and her horse. As the saying goes, "A horse is a girl's best friend," and for Cayle, Sly was indeed a cherished companion.

To make this dream a reality, we scheduled two sessions. Cayle was more than happy to don her graduation dress again, meticulously grooming Sly for the occasion. The effort was well worth it, as the portraits we created were nothing short of magical.

Morning Magic

Both sessions were held in the morning to capture that perfect light, enhancing the natural beauty of their porch and barn as stunning backdrops. The morning sun provided a soft, golden hue, making each shot warm and vibrant.

One of the most memorable images from our sessions is of Cayle and Sly in the field, simply enjoying each other's company. Another standout moment was captured against a black background, where Cayle, in her elegant dress, gently hugged Sly, creating a powerful and emotional portrait that speaks volumes about their bond.

A Perfect Ending

These sessions were more than just photo shoots; they were celebrations of love, dreams, and family. Seeing Cayle's joy, the pride in her parents' eyes, and the shared laughter with her sisters made these moments unforgettable. The presence of grandpa added a layer of nostalgia and completeness to the family portraits.
